“There must be 50 ways to leave your meeting participants in the dark”. Anon
Just before you start your important update today in one of your meetings, remember that, as humans we have 50 biases in our brains (actually there are more) that will affect how well your meeting colleagues will listen to you. Any one of them could derail your intention to get listeners on board with your idea.
Similarly, your decision-making process will be influenced by these biases as you reflect on your colleagues’ ideas and come to your decision.
When you design your message next time, bear these in mind. That way you will get closer to really getting your message across, and achieving the action you want.
You are never as objective as you think you are.
